To say that I've been stuck in a rut would be an understatement. I've been relying on shopping from home through the websites of local supermarkets which has left me with little inspiration.I decided to take the bull by the horns (or the shopping cart by the handle in this case) and wander. Wandering is what inspires me always. I wander through parks and cities. I wander through museums and galleries. I wander the aisles of my local library (looking at you Basking Ridge).I sometimes find myself struggling in an online world to keep true to the basics that have always served me well. It's wonderful to order things online and have them delivered the next day by a harried driver who is racing so fast to make their deadlines that the smile they give when offered the basic niceties like water or tea or a muffin seems foreign to them and me. I love the convenience of online, I publish my recipes online, but I loathe the impersonal tone of it all. I need to wander more. It suits me to immerse myself in the surroundings that are available to me. I went to a near by store in Pluckemin (The Fresh Market) to find that kick start that I needed.I'll be wandering more now. I'll be haunting my local stores in Somerset and Morris county so if you see me, don't be surprised.
